Soldiers Grove Library News

Hello Friends,

This week at the library the Crawford Stewardship Project and the Valley Stewardship Network will present a program concerning Karst Geology and fresh water. On Tuesday, August 9, 7-9pm, Legion GIS (Geological Information Systems) specialists and Prof. Kelvin Rodolfo will explain plans to develop a new survey of Crawford county concerning groundwater susceptibility within the driftless area’s karst landscape.

There will be an opportunity for those interested to contribute directly to data that will be used to develop this online locator tool. The focus here will be well location refinement and on Thursday, August 18th in Gays Mills, focus will be verification of sinkholes, both via aerial imagery. Laptops will be available to use at the library and folks are encouraged to bring their own.

I hope you will be able to come & find out more about preserving our precious clean water resource here in Southwest Wisconsin!

Cheers,

~Cele
