What's Happening at the Library

Soldiers Grove Library News

Hello Everyone,

It’s February and we are heading out of winter!

You may remember a program at the library in December with Kelle Lemley. She talked about the Back-to-Landers history project and book that she and Josh Feyen are working on and showed lots of pictures from that era. They have a facebook page, “Back to the land in the Kickapoo & Pine Valleys”.

Now K O’Brien, dramatist-director extraordinaire, has this exciting project in the works!

READERS NEEDED FOR THEATER PIECE        Voices of the Kickapoo is a dramatic reading developed from local interviews from the Back To The Land Project. A first reading will be held at the Soldiers Grove Library on Tuesday Feb. 3 from 7:00-9:00.  Eleven people are needed for this reading. Readers need a computer and access to Dropbox in order to share the script. If you would like to participate, or have questions, please contact K at kob.book@yahoo.com.

Toddler Time is in full swing, Tuesday mornings, 10am with Ms Cindy. Stories, songs, puppets, simple crafts and of course, snack!

And lastly, I’d like to remind everyone about the library’s Patio-Paver Program. During the coming years we will continue to offer this opportunity to support the library and proceeds will be used to maintain the high quality of service our community has come to rely on. So it’s time to place your order for an engraved brick to be installed this coming spring! The order form can be found on the library’s website, www.soldiersgrovelibrary.com or you can stop by the library to order a brick or two. The patio pavers can be seen in the bookdrop area near the front entrance and can be reserved for $100 per brick. Inscriptions can be made for individuals, families, businesses or commemorations of all kinds. Soon it will be Valentine’s Day, what a great way to honor someone special, and love your library too!

Cheers,

~Cele
